Brian Downey's Big Band

Subject: Brian Downey's Big Band
Date: September 7, 2004 5:07 PM

Just a reminder to everybody that the Brian Downey Big Band plays every Tuesday evening at the Bayou (Sunnyside & Bank).

Come on out and check out the brand new dance floor. Lots of room and lots of slide.

If the last time you heard the Brian Downey Big Band was at the Ottawa
Dance Zone, come on out and check it out now: you'll be very impressed.
We're now a full band and very tight

We play a wide variety of music, from Count Basie to Tito Puente, from
Dixieland to funk.

Downbeat is at 8:30 dancer time (IOW about 8:45 or so), and continues
on for three sets and ends about the same time Cinderella loses her shoe.

Cover is $3, and includes a free lesson taught by yours truly during
the first break at about 10:00. That's right, a live band and a
dance lesson for $3.

Like any other weeknight event it can be lightly attended, so it's
recommended that you bring your own partner or a group of friends.
However, Go Suzuki has become a regular: all of you follows should
come on out and check out his sweet Lindy lead!

see y'all tonight,

Bryan Larsen
