Irene's Hot! Hot! Hot! Blues Jam
with The Stellar Cast

The place may not look as hot on the outside, but just drop into Irene's on a Thursday evening along about 9 pm and you'll get caught up in Ottawa's hottest blues jam with Mike Ktenas on bass, (Mojo Guitar Repair) host plus special guest artist, Corky Kealy on drums and guest hosts.

If you're missing this hot blues jam, a lot of Ottawa's premier blues artists aren't. Making regular visits are artists like Southside Steve Marriner, Vince Halfhide, Brian Magner, Frank Scanga, Edwardo Flores, Bruce Saunders and many others.

And, you never know who else will show. Here, Donny Walsh of Downchild Blues Band sits in with local phenom Southside Steve Marriner. Other bluesmasters such as Sherman Robertson and David Gogo have made a hot jam even hotter.

Left, Al Tambay of L'il Al's Combo is one of a variety of weekly guest hosts who always keep the jam hot and interesting. Front is Steve Trecarten on on sax and back on bass is Ross Taylor of Carleton Place, a very active member of the Mississippi Blues Society.

Lower right, Ottawa's internationally known master bluesman plays some hot blues licks while hosting the jam.

Chuck Karn, one of Ottawa's elder statemen of the blues, shows
here he hasn't lost any of his performance passion although
we may see him less these days on the local scene.
