Magnolia Rhythm Kings

The Magnolia Rhythm Kings approach to Classic Jazz is traditional in form and style, but adventurous in repertoire, like that of the original New Orleans and Chicago musicians. From early street parade rhythms and low down blues to the happy dancing sounds of the Jazz Age and subsequent revivals, Californian, British and elsewhere, the Magnolia play with enthusiasm, energy and a love for the music.

The Magnolia Rhythm Kings feature:

Bob Misener, leader on banjo, piano and vocals.
Art Katona, trombone and vocals
Don Patterson, trumpet and vocals
Don Cumming, clarinet, soprano, tenor sax and vocals
Bob Langley, bass
Glenn Robb, drums
Craig Kennedy, banjo, guitar and vocals

The Magnolia Rhythm Kings have played weekly to their loyal Ottawa fans for many years, as well as at festivals, jazz societies and other occasions.

Every second Sunday the Magnolia Rhythm Kings play at the Royal Oak, Kanata. Check the Jazz listings to find out where they are playing next. They do allow themselves a small break between Christmas and New Years.
