Peter Fleming

Vibist, and co-leader is a veteran musician on the Ottawa music scene. With over 50 years of performance experience, he has backed up such greats as Tony Bennett, Mel Torme and Rich Little. For many years, Peter belonged to the famous Chomp Champagne Orchestra and also performed regularly on CBOT TV. In addition to being in demand as a player, Peter has been a musical & audio consultant for CBC as well as having his own radio show. He was also greatly involved as a performer, booking agent and musical co-ordinator for the Canadian Expo in 1967.

Scott Poll

Has been a clarinetist and a fan of swing music for 25 years. With a background in both classical & jazz, he has studied with clarinetists Victor Sawa, Gary Kidd and jazz clarinetist & composer Phil Nimmons. Since moving to Ottawa in 1994, Scott has performed with jazz piano legend Gene di Novi, guitar great Jeff Healey, vibist Peter Appleyard and swing vocalist Alex Pangman. While living in western Canada in 1993, Scott recorded for CBC Radio Calgary. In addition to co-leading the Swing Kings, Scott fronts his own combo 'The Jazz Pollcats' and is a member and featured soloist with the Central Band of the Royal Canadian Air Force based in Ottawa.

Art Lawless

Is a well-known jazz pianist on the Ottawa scene. He has freelanced in numerous dance and show bands and has specialized in accompanying many local vocalists including Laurie Nelson, Dick Maloney and Holly Larocque. He led the house trio at the National Arts Centre for several years, and worked with bands supporting many visiting stars including Dinah Shore, Delia Reese, Peter Appleyard and the London Palladium Shows. Art has also per-Formed in numerous venues in the U.S., Mexico and the Bahamas.

Gerry Heike

Is an Honours graduate of Oscar Peterson's Advanced School of Contemporary Music in Toronto, where he studied bass with Ray Brown. Gerry also studied with Manny Albam at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where he majored in composition and arranging. Gerry's work has been greatly influenced by some of the top jazz musicians he has performed with - Jim Hall, Mel Torme, and Donald Byrd to name a few.

Glenn Robb,

A veteran jazz drummer and native to Ottawa, started his career locally with the Fred Davis orchestra in 1951. With decades as a fixture on the local music scene, Glenn has recorded film & television background soundtracks for many productions and has worked with jazz legends, Benny Goodman, Bud Freeman, Bud Shank, Harry Edison, Kenny Davern, Vic Dickenson, Cab Calloway, & Dizzy Gillespie. Over the decades, he has played numerous radio shows on CBC Radio and Societe Radio Canada with the orchestra of Ron Milne, Ken Campbell and Gerry Heike. Glenn belonged to the Champ Champagne Orchestra for over 25 years.
